In 2016, there will be a new Maths test format. I have taken the sample 2016 Maths SATs tests and combined the original question and answer papers into single documents. This means you can ask a single question to the class, wait for a response on their mini white boards and then check their answers against the official marking scheme. The great thing about this is it really reduces the amount of stress in the classroom as the students are able to work on their own, in pairs or small teams to work out the answer. They can then discuss their different strategies at resolving each of the questions.. This is a nice set of teaching resources to keep a lesson well paced and snappy. I collected together thousands of different report comments used by the QCA to describe learning outcomes and created a whole school report writing tool for every class in a primary schools. It will save you hours and hours when you write your reports. I can now write all my school reports in an afternoon or a couple of evenings. I have used this set of report writing comments for the last 10 years. I have included a link to help you download the freeware report writing software and also a step by step guide to help you get the most out of this wonderful software. I have gone through hundreds of different teaching schemes written by the QCA and I have re-written their learning outcomes as report comments. It is now possible to simply click the different things a student has achieved in a specific topic and cut and paste it into your school reports. I have made sure that for English and Maths, that it is possible to differentiate between high, middle and lower achieving children. Each report is still written with a single child in mind, and so every report still comes out unique and special to that student. The difference being you now simply add their name, their sex and click on the statements which are relevant to them. In the past, I have received great praise for this material and often it has been described as a life or career saver, when teachers needed to produce a complete set of high quality teaching resources in a very short time. Please note - due to the huge number of different files and comments I have produced, it is still possible there will be an occasional typo in the comments bank. Please read and check your reports after writing them to make sure they are perfect before sending them out.

At each point he is further and further from home and less likely to make it back... this set of worksheets looks at the different Thinking Hat approaches to this book. They will consider facts, feelings, positives, negatives, creative approaches and finally make a mind map. This book does not contain any of the original drawings or text. You could look at it directly as a presentation and discuss the different calculations being shown in each of the photos. You could print off and laminate the photos to make an interesting, eye-catching display about Guy Fawkes - Number Bonds To Ten. The students could also take the laminated photos and sort them into different Guy Fawkes - Number Bonds To Ten. The students can then discuss how they solve each problem.

I wanted to make Year 6 SATs revision more fun. I have combined each of the 2015 Past SATs papers for maths questions and the marking scheme into a single document. This means that a teacher can now show a single question and get the students to find the answer before moving onto the next question. This makes revision a lot less stressful. I have removed the time limits and of course students can now work in pairs or small teams to discuss their different strategies and answers. It also helps to make the lessons faster paced and snappier as the children start to gain confidence in their abilities to solve maths problems. This resource could be used in the classroom or at home to prepare for the UK Year 6 SATs exams. Students should try all the tests to gain the deepest knowledge of this subject. Are your students studying about Literacy Day or Book week? I have created both a set of photos for display and a fun set of visual writing prompts. These creative writing prompts ask the students to look at each picture and use their 5 senses to describe the image. What can they see, touch, smell, taste, hear and feel in each picture? They then use these notes to write a fuller, more detailed description of the picture. This is a great way to prepare for the KS1 SATs tests and the KS2 SATs tests while still having a lot of fun! This pack contains a 31 Teaching Activity Teacher Guide using these photo flash cards. These activities are quick and fun to do and will improve both your students' memory and vocabulary skills. You could look at it directly as a presentation and discuss the different materials being shown in each of the photos. You could print off and laminate the photos to make an interesting, eye-catching display about International Literacy Day. The students could also take the laminated photos and sort them into different types of Literacy. The students can then discuss how they sorted them. The photos could also be used as prompts for creative writing, factual writing or descriptive writing.

Getting ready for the summer Phonics test? Here are two Phonics revision tests from previous years. I have converted 4 documents into a simple to use PowerPoint. It starts off with practice words. These include both real and made up words. These help students to revise how to say the words and to prepare them for the test. This is followed by the practice test. There are 2 levels, a simple level and a trickier level, In each case there are real and made-up words. This is followed by recommendations on how to say each word. This is followed by the marking sheet. These PowerPoints are fun, colourful and an easy way to practice the words either with a whole class or one by one with the students. It is also an excellent way for parents to practice with their children at home. Make phonics testing fun... try this set of PowerPoints today!

I have found a way of making Maths revision a lot more fun. I have combined the official question papers and the official marking schemes into a single document. This means you can ask a question, the students show their answers on mini whiteboards and then as a class, you look at the official answers and look at what the students would have scored. As this is a whole class teaching activity, students can work in pairs or small teams and discuss their ideas and strategies together. This really reduces the level of stress as children are able to build on each others skills. This teaching resource could be used in the classroom or at home. Teachers need some fun to. This is my adult colouring book for teachers. You could print it out for your class to quietly colour during tests (when they have completed them to calm and relax them), or during long staff meetings - nothing is more relaxing and constructive than a little light colouring. This is to encourage staff to have a little time every day to think and reflect and not work. This is my attempt at improving the good life balance of staff. All these images were in the public domain. In the majority of the cases however, it took both a long time to find, then even longer to use editing software to sharpen and improve the images. I would love to know what people think of them.
